SummarizeVideoToText turns a video link into a full transcript and an AI summary in seconds. Paste a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram URL and the tool pulls the spoken content, cleans it up into readable paragraphs with timestamps, and produces a structured summary you can actually use. There is nothing to download and nothing to install; it runs entirely in the browser.
What you get from a single link:
The complete transcript, timestamped, ready to copy, search or quote. An AI summary that pulls out the key points and takeaways rather than restating the opening paragraph. Follow-up Q&A, so you can ask questions about the video and get answers grounded in what was actually said in it. An auto-generated mind map of the video’s structure, for the times when you want the shape of an argument rather than its full text. And one-click export to Notion, Obsidian, or plain Markdown, so the output lands in the notes app you already use instead of sitting in a tab.
Beyond links, you can also upload a local video or audio file and have it transcribed the same way, which covers recordings that were never published anywhere: lecture captures, meeting recordings, voice memos, podcast drafts.
Summaries can be generated in 14 languages, and the summary language is chosen independently of the interface language. That means you can watch an English conference talk and read the summary in Chinese, or take a Spanish tutorial and read it in English, without changing anything else about how you use the site.
Who it is for: students working through recorded lectures and reviewing them before exams, researchers going over conference talks and long interviews, marketers and analysts reviewing competitor videos, journalists pulling quotes out of recorded material, and anyone who would rather read something in three minutes than watch it for forty.
Getting started is deliberately low friction. YouTube summaries work without creating an account at all, so you can check the output quality on a video you already know well before you decide whether to sign up for anything. Signing in raises the daily limit and the maximum video length, and re-opening a video that has already been summarised is free, so revisiting your own library never costs anything extra.
Pricing is freemium. The free tier covers a few summaries a day plus a monthly allowance of upload transcription minutes, which is enough for casual use. The paid Pro tier removes the daily summary limit under fair use, raises the maximum video length substantially, and increases the monthly upload transcription allowance for people who process video every day.
